Our goal is to give you the healthy, straight, beautiful smile that you have always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel. Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic treatment is a rewarding experience.
Your First Visit
The first step in beginning your orthodontic treatment starts with your initial exam. This visit will give you the opportunity to meet Dr. Worthington and our team, learn more about orthodontics and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. We are happy to provide this initial visit to you at no charge.
At this appointment, we will take a panoramic x-ray and Dr. Worthington will perform a complete oral examination to determine whether orthodontic treatment is necessary. If treatment is needed, a customized orthodontic treatment plan will be created to fit your needs. Dr. Worthington will also spend time with you to address any questions or concerns you may have. If orthodontic treatment is recommended, Heather, our treatment coordinator, will review with you all financial information, including payments plans and insurance options.
Diagnostic Records Appointment
Once it is determined that you are in need of orthodontic treatment, an appointment will be scheduled for your diagnostic records. At this visit, records will be taken which include a cephalometric x-ray, photographs of you and your teeth and photographic scans of your teeth for study models. If recommended treatment will include the placement of braces, the spacers will be placed at this visit.
Treatment Start Appointment
This appointment is when you will have your appliances (braces, expanders, Invisalign trays, etc.) placed and usually takes from one to two hours. At the end of this visit, we will review with you all instructions regarding your orthodontic treatment and how to properly care for your teeth with your new appliances.
Successful orthodontics requires a series of scheduled appointments throughout treatment. The adjustment appointments are every 4 to 8 weeks and take approximately 30 minutes. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are as convenient as possible and we make every effort to be on time for our patients.
